About New Lens Ed.

New Lens Education offers a fresh approach to education for students who find the traditional classroom difficult to navigate. It’s designed for neurodivergent, anxious, or disengaged learners who need a space where they can feel safe, understood, and motivated to learn again. Led by an experienced English teacher with a deep understanding of neurodiversity, trauma-informed education, and executive function, New Lens Ed. focuses on both academic growth and personal confidence; helping students rediscover their capacity and love for learning. This is education done differently: compassionate, flexible, and grounded in the belief that every young person can thrive when learning feels safe and meaningful.

Who We Support

Our Approach

Safety First

Learning begins with emotional safety. New Lens Ed. prioritises trust, predictability, and positive connection, building a foundation for curiosity and engagement..

Neuroaffirming Practice

We work with each student’s unique learning profile, sensory preferences, and communication style. There’s no “one right way” to learn here. There is only what works best for the individual.

Executive Function Coaching

Practical coaching to support skills like planning, organisation, flexible thinking, and emotional regulation. We build systems and habits that work with the student’s brain, not against it.

Strengths-Based Learning

Lessons focus on what students do well, building momentum and self-belief. Growth is measured in confidence, curiosity, and self-understanding, not just grades.

Creative, Holistic Education

blends traditional academics with creative and reflective learning through discussion, writing, storytelling, and humour.

Why New Lens Ed.?

As students, we were told: “You're just not trying hard enough.” “You're so capable but you just need to apply yourself.” “You're being lazy! You just need to knuckle down and get the work done!” “You just need to be more organised and then you'll catch up.” “You could be amazing if you put the work in.” We heard these phrases so often that we believed them long after leaving school. As teachers, we heard far too many bright, sensitive, or neurodivergent students being told exactly the same thing. New Lens Ed. is determined to change this story. By combining educational skill, emotional insight, and flexible learning design, we help students build confidence, resilience, and independence through understanding and without pressure. We know thar when learning feels safe, everything else becomes possible.

Testimonials

Harmony L.

“Christopher teaches with patience and alacrity. He makes the content understandable and will tailor the lesson to what you need. Chris did an amazing job at creating small worksheet exercises to help me practice the areas I needed help with most.”

Laura B.

“It is my pleasure to strongly recommend Christopher for tutoring. Over the past years, Christopher has tutored my two sons in Maths. For several years my boys had struggled in this subject and I was trying to break through the barriers and help them comprehend. We were so lucky to find Chris who not only helped them but also managed to make my sons enjoy the subject even more. During these years with Chris, I was immediately impressed with not only his knowledge but his patience with my sons. His dedication to ensure he was available at times of last-minute classes during exam periods was outstanding. My sons, Matthew and Jordan, have now chosen their career paths as teachers—I think it was because of Chris, who was a great influence in their decision-making. Thank you, Chris!!”

“I first met Chris while working as a school counsellor and quickly noticed the exceptional difference he made to students who were struggling academically. His teaching style, combined with his ability to build strong relationships, creates an environment where young people feel both supported and capable. Chris brings a neuroaffirming and trauma-informed approach to his tutoring, which allows students to feel safe, respected, and understood. He listens deeply, empathises, and always teaches from a strengths-based perspective. This ensures that academic progress is paired with the vital building up of self-esteem and confidence. Chris has also been tutoring my daughter for several months, and I have seen firsthand the positive impact he has had on her skills and sense of self-belief. Because of this, I frequently recommend him to my clients who are mostly ADHD. He is passionate about his work, genuinely cares about the young people he supports, and consistently goes above and beyond to help them succeed. I cannot recommend Chris highly enough.”
